Red Blet Fun Class

Our free Red Belt Fun Classes for all red belt and white stripe belt students have

been a great success in settling the students into the club, and will

run on the last Wednesday of every month next year too.

in-house competitions

Throughout January we’ll also be getting the juniors ready for out in-house competitions. As you’ve asked and we’ve listened, this event will be to determine some champions for Blackburn with a knockout format for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. We might even get ourselves a podium!

These in-house competitionss will be run as a knockout in class during January, with the finals held on Sunday 25th February with only two categories of Continuous Fighting and Random Attacks. Watch out for more details!

Following our in-house Academy Competitions, we have our Masters of Martial Arts Regional Competition on Sunday 21st April at Oakhill Leisure, Whalley. We've always taken a great team to compete againts other Masters of Martial Arts Clubs and i'm sure this year will be no different. Our competition specific classes every Monday evening really help the students prepare so please enquire if you think it will benefit you or your child.

Southend 2023

We'd also love to take a team down again to the

Southend International Course & Competitions

on the Bank Holiday weekend of

Saturday 25th May.

All who attended had a great weekend and we had some notable sucesses there too.

All these, of course, are great preparations for the British Ju-Jitsu Association National Championships in Walsall on Saturday 31st August. We hope to beat our Blackburn haul of 26 medals from last year and six of those now National Champions.

We will also be inviting some our students to represent the British Ju Jitsu Association National Team at our bi-annual Course and Congress which is scheduled to be held this time in Hungary in October/November 2024.

Our Junior grading dates have been set for Sunday 3rd March, 7th July and 17th November,2024. Please keep these dates free.

Our adult grading dates have also been set for May & November 2024.

Awards Night

Celebrating our students achievements is always high on the agenda and we’ll be holding our adults black tie Gala Dinner & Awards event on Saturday

10th February at the Dunkenhalgh, where our Adult Student of the Year will be awarded.

Our Little Dragons and Juniors Awards event will be held again this year (date to be confirmed) and in October of 2024 we are planning to hold our first Showcase event for all students to demonstrate their skills in front of family and friends.

In late October we will once again be holding our Academy Halloween Party for the kids - and who knows, we might even have an adults Halloween fancy dress party too!

After that it'll nearly be the end of the year and time to plan again for 2025

Most of our Academy activities are geared towards our youth who are our future. By investing in them, they will develop into well-balanced and successful adults.

Raising their aspirations and allowing them to flourish in our unique ‘bubble’ in Blackburn town centre, will ensure a brighter future for our community, the town and it’s residents. Come join us - it doesn't have to be doing martial arts! Keigu (Kind Regards) Sensei
